Creative Hair Colour Specialists in Surrey
If you’d rather not fade into the background and feel ready to go for hair that’s bold, playful or completely different, creative colour is where things get really exciting.
From soft pastels to rich reds, potent purples and creative multi-tone looks, we’ll work with you to create something bespoke that feels fun and expressive.
Prefer to just dip your toe in the world of creative colour? why not start with a little pop of colour through the ends, a peekaboo panel or a soft pastel hint of colour.
How we create our vibrant hair colours
For the most beautiful pastels, the boldest brights and the most vibrant results, your transformation usually starts with pre-lightening the hair.
We’ll use the gentlest lighteners to create the perfect base before we apply your chosen shade or shades.
Your stylist will always be honest about what’s achievable in one appointment – especially if your hair needs a little more care before going lighter.
You may need a strand test and in some cases we may recommend restoring the condition before you go for the dramatic change.
Creative Colour Ideas & Trends
When it comes to creative colour we can create something that’s totally unique to you. Here are some Chop & Change favourites to inspire you.
A full head of bold colour
A pop of pink, purple or red woven through your hair
A balayage with brighter ends
Peekaboo panels of hidden colour
Something completely bespoke
We’ll talk through your ideas, your lifestyle and how much upkeep you’re happy with, then build a plan that works for you.
How to Look After Your Vivid Hair Colour
Creative colour is about more than just the end result – it’s about how your hair feels during and after the process.
If your hair isn’t in the right condition, we’ll always guide you towards the best option. That might mean adjusting your vision, introducing colour more gradually or focusing on restoring your hair first.
We’d much rather do it properly than rush it.
Vivid colours look incredible – but they need a bit more care.
- Brighter shades will gradually fade over time
- Some tones fade softer, others shift slightly as they wash out
- You’ll need the right home care to keep your colour looking fresh
We’ll always talk you through how to maintain your colour and we strongly recommend using professional colour safe shampoo. Your stylist will let you know when to come back in for a toner to refresh your look.

Client Questions about Creative Colour
Will vivid colour suit me?
Probably, vivid hair colour is all about confidence so if you have the attitude for it, you’ll love it. We’ll help you to find the tone that’s going to suit your skin and your lifestyle.
Will it damage my hair?
Lightening can affect the condition of your hair, which is why we use protective bond builders when we lighten the hair. We’ll also give you advice about how to look after both the colour and condition of your hair. If we have any concerns about giving you a creative colour, we will always do a strand test and we may delay the process until you hair is ready for it.
Is this a bleach and tone?
Maybe! Creative colour usually starts with a lightening process so we can get to a nice clean canvas to add the colour on top. We’ll then need to add a toner to create the colour you visualise. However, it’s quite likely you’ll have some other processes too – such as a balayage, root melt or dip dye.
Do vivid colours fade quickly?
Yes, brighter shades naturally fade over time. Some soften beautifully, and clients actually love the new tone, while others may need a toner refresh to keep them looking vibrant. Your stylist will chat with you about that at your consultation.
How soon will I need to come back to get my colour refreshed?
That depends on the colour technique and how well colour holds in your hair, but vivid shades generally need more regular maintenance than natural tones.
Do I need a patch test?
Yes — if you’re new to colour or haven’t had one recently, we’ll need to carry out a patch test at least 48
hours before your appointment.
