Queries About Colour At Chop And Change
What colour service do I need?
If you’re not sure, don’t worry – that’s what we’re here for. We’ll talk through your options at your consultation and recommend what will work best for your hair and lifestyle. If you’re new to colour or not sure what to book, please give the salon a call on 01932 844463. We’s hate for you to not book enough time for the service you need.
Do you offer free consultations?
Yes, we do . If your not sure what to book, in a style rut or even considering adding some colour to your hair, you should really book yourself one right now! It’s a chance to have a trained eye look at your hair and give you a feel for what you need to get the hair you wish you already have.
Will I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. We ask for a 50% deposit at the time of booking. This will come off your colour service on the day – so think of it as paying in installments.
How soon will I need to come back to maintain my colour?
It depends on the service you’re having. Balayage tends to be lower maintenance, while highlights, blonding and creative colour may need more regular upkeep.
What if I don’t like my colour?
We’d hate for that to happen. That’s why we always start with a thorough consultation. In the very rare and unlikely event you are anything less than happy with your colour, we’ll invite you back in and work with you to get you back to a happy place.
Will colour damage my hair?
We always take a careful, considered approach and use protective treatments where needed. Your hair’s condition is just as important as the final result because that’s what will make the difference over time. Your stylist may recommend products to protect your colour and your hair between appointments.
I've ruined my hair with a box dye. Can you help me?
You won’t be the first person to make that mistake and of course we can help you! We’re rather good at colour correction actually. We’ll start by putting you at ease. If we can’t fix it straight away, we’ll come up with a plan to get it looking fantastic again and we promise it will look better from your first visit onwards. Do I need a patch test?
Yes — if you’re new to colour or haven’t had one recently, we’ll need to carry out a patch test at least 48
hours before your appointment.
